Michael Brooks American Football - October 29th, 2015
Michael Brooks (born October 2, 1964) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League. He played for the Denver Broncos, the New York Giants, and the Detroit Lions. He was an All American college standout college football at Louisiana State University (selected as a SEC Football Legend). Slated to go in the top ten of the 1st round of the draft until a knee injury sidelined him his senior year. Michael was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 3rd round, he earned a starting position late in his rookie year and went on to lead the team in tackles for 5 consecutive seasons,his best year was 1992 when he made his first Pro Bowl. Brooks was a leader on the defense and served as defensive captain for 4 years. With the Giants Brooks quickly earned Defensive Player on the year and Most Valuable Player honors while with the New York Giants. He also served as Captain of the Defense while with the Giants. Brooks retired from the Detroit Lions in 1997 after reinjuring his knee.
Played in Super Bowl XXII and Super Bowl XVI with the Broncos.. Lost both games.
